About us
The Banshees are an English Indie/Rock/Pop band, formed in December 2018 in Liverpool. They rose to prominence after their EP “Silent Nightmare” was featured on the likes of NME, Rolling Stone, MTV, Pitchfork, Kerrang, Guitar Player, Guitar World, Ultimate Guitar, VH1, Vice, Stereogum and Spin amongst many others.
The lineup of the band consists of Vinny Pereira on vocals/guitar and Paul Holligan on lead guitar.
Birth of ‘The Banshees’
Pereira and Holligan originally started playing music together after they met at a party in Liverpool through a mutual friend. The Banshees were born, and they started out gigging in their hometown of Liverpool in 2019.
Many music journalists drew parallels between The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys and Talking Heads.
"Silent Nightmare” The Banshees' third EP, was released in October, 2020 and proved to be hugely popular with fans and critics alike, receiving very positive reviews from the likes of BBC Introducing, Louder Than War, Northern Exposure and King of Tinnitist 'Canada's Most-Followed Music Critic' Darryl Sterdan.
The Banshees also hold semi finalist status in the Nashville ‘International Songwriting Awards’
The Banshees have worked alongside Noel Gallagher, Pete Best (The Beatles), members of the 'High Flying Birds’, Chris Helme (The Seahorses) The Bluetones, and Inspiral Carpets to name a few!
Their track ‘Point of You’ has drawn attention from Gordon Raphael, legendary producer of The Strokes and it was also featured on BT TV music, BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio USA, Amazing Radio, Northern Quarter Radio and across the world via thousands of college radio stations etc.
Also labelled as ‘One of the best new Indie bands to come out of Liverpool' by the Liverpool Echo.
In 2021 they worked with Jaegermeister on a promotion and currently have a song under license to the Royal Bank of Scotland.
The bands official music videos were all directed and created by the band themselves.
So far, they have released 9 tracks independently.
From start to finish, The Banshees are truly independent and have a lot of new material coming soon!
